Holiday light displays that will illuminate Oregon in 2021 - OregonLive

sekirta.blogspot.com

Holiday lights are back to light up Oregon, just as the darkest days of the year arrive.

From big-city light displays to small-town events, the colorful light displays are one of the most popular ways for communities to gather during the holiday season between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

The big question mark for this holiday season is Portland’s beloved Peacock Lane, which has yet to announce any plans for 2021, as of Nov. 1. Organizers said they will make an announcement about this year’s neighborhood light display in early November. Peacock Lane was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Other major light displays in Portland are back for 2021, including ZooLights, which is inviting people to walk through the Oregon Zoo in addition to the drive-through option introduced in 2020, and the popular drive-through display at the Portland International Raceway.

Those outside the Portland area will find a number of traditional light displays in places like Roseburg, Brookings, Keizer and Silverton this year, though the popular Holiday Lights at Shore Acres on the southern Oregon coast has been canceled for the second year in a row.

Here are some of the biggest and best holiday light displays happening in Oregon this year:

Face masks are required for the walking tour and for drivers when interacting with staff.
