Light Up Moses Lake is coming back for another year and sponsors are needed for the fun and safe holiday event.
Organizer Caralyn Bess says the cheer starts December 4th, a day after the Moses Lake Ag Parade. Light Up Moses Lake began in 2020 as a way for the community to celebrate the holidays amid the pandemic. That year, both the city’s Christmas tree lighting and agricultural parade were cancelled.
The community competition is looking for fun and exciting light displays which families can drive by, admire and vote on through an interactive voting system and map.
Winners will be selected in three categories: businesses, residents, and ag implements.
“As a kid you would get in the car and go out with your parents to just ride around and see all the beautiful lights,” reminisced Bess.
All the sponsorship money and entry fees will go to three local non-profits; The Moses Lake Senior Opportunities, New Hope/Kids Hope and the Boys & Girls Club.
Like last year, there will be two drop off points located at Sinkiuse Square in downtown Moses Lake and the Grant County Fairgrounds. Light Up Moses Lake will be accepting donations of cash as well as new, unwrapped toys and nonperishable food items.
Each winner will receive a family 4-pack to the Journey to the North Pole in Coeur d’Alene and an overnight stay at the resort. For more information, including the interactive map of participating locations, go to lightupmoseslake.com.
