ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman in her 30s was taken into custody early Sunday morning by Orange County deputies after a six-hour standoff in an Orlando McDonald’s, where officials said she had fired a handgun and made threatening statements.
Deputies responded to an armed robbery call from the McDonald’s at 4640 S. Orange Blossom Trl. around 10:35 p.m. Saturday and said the suspect opened fire from inside the restaurant, prompting them to return fire from outside.

Deputies said they attempted to negotiate the peaceful surrender of the woman over the course of more than six hours. Negotiators could be heard over a loud speaker trying to speak to the suspect.
“Come out with your hands up,” a negotiator said. “Answer your phone. We want to know if you’re okay.”
Deputies eventually took her into custody without incident when she exited the restaurant at 4:45 a.m., according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
There were no injuries reported, and all employees and customers of the restaurant managed to get out safely, deputies said.
Following protocol, the three deputies involved are now on temporary, paid administrative leave as the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates the shooting.
