Wet weather on Friday morning is causing delays of up to an hour on some New Jersey Transit trains.
Trains on the Morris & Essex line as well as the Gladstone Branch are facing 60 minute delays due to slippery track conditions, New Jersey Transit said in a tweet at 9:45 a.m.
Several trains have already been cancelled on Friday while others were up to one hour, 45 minutes late.
Rain is expected to continue through the morning before tapering off early this afternoon. Forecasters are also concerned about winds gusts of more than 30 mph.
Other train lines are running on or close to schedule, according to NJ Transit.
Last year New Jersey Transit began using two AquaTrack machines to clean and remove leaves from the rails, though they’re not as effective when heavy rain is falling.
