KINGSTON, N.Y. — Parking meters along Grand Street and Field Court will be removed and replaced with two-hour parking.
During a meeting Tuesday, the Common Council voted 8-0 to adopt a resolution authorizing the removal of 10 parking meters on Grand Street and seven on Field Court. The resolution was adopted without further public discussion by aldermen.
Alderman Steven Schabot, D-Ward 8, was absent.
The resolution adopted by the council amends the city code to remove the parking meter zones along the west side of Grand Street from Prince Street to Smith Avenue and on both sides of Field Court, as well as to adjust the language for certain zones along Broadway where meters have already been removed.
Dan Quesnell, the city’s parking supervisor, previously told aldermen that the meters would be replaced with two-hour parking and provide consistency through Kingston’s Broadway corridor.
