You may have been very occupied with the speaker presentations during our recent virtual event, “Renaissance of light quality: SSL industry swaps focus from efficiency to architecture,” so as not to realize that other event-related resources are available to those who register.

LEDs Magazine chief editor Maury Wright conducted two exclusive interviews with engineering experts from Samsung Electronics and LEDvance. In under 30 minutes, you can get insiders’ views on quality of light with regard to both the appearance of light and the performance that can be customized with light sources.

As we have covered, LED spectra can be tailored to deliver desirable light characteristics for particular scenarios, such as improved visual acuity in the workplace or at home, and non-visual impacts that improve focus, productivity, and sleep/wake cycles. This is possible with LED technologies that deliver high color fidelity, a range of CCTs that mimic natural daylight changes more closely, and spectral power distribution (SPD) that boosts blue-rich energy during specific daytime cycles then is reduced during evening hours to allow circadian entrainment. Both interviews offer technical background on product developments that enable LED-based solid-state lighting to positively impact human health and wellbeing.

Register to watch these exclusive video interviews featuring editor Maury Wright chatting with Samsung Electronics principal engineer Dr. Elio Jin-Ha Kim, who outlines the LED manufacturer’s human-centric lighting packages, and LEDvance engineer Dr. Ming Li, who explores the company’s TruWave technology for natural light.
