MercyOne Medical Centers in Iowa to light up the sky as a symbol of hope and gratitude - KCRG

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) - MercyOne said it is installing spotlights to shine as beacons of light above 16 medical centers across the state of Iowa beginning Friday night. That includes MercyOne Medical Centers in Dubuque, Waterloo and Cedar Falls.

In a Facebook post MercyOne said the light represents their hope for 2021 and is a symbol of gratitude for their colleagues and their service to the communities.

The medical centers will light up the night skies starting at 5 p.m. from January 1 - 7. They expect it to be visible for miles depending on weather conditions.

“As we continue to battle COVID-19 together, we are filled with hope and gratitude. These lights signal to our colleagues and communities we will persevere together and move toward a brighter future in 2021,” MercyOne President and CEO Bob Ritz said in a news release.

The following locations will have the beacons of lights:

  • MercyOne Centerville Medical Center
  • MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center
  • MercyOne Newton Medical Center
  • MercyOne West Des Moines Medical Center
  • MercyOne Clinton Medical Center
  • MercyOne Elkader Medical Center
  • MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center
  • MercyOne Dyersville Medical Center
  • MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center
  • MercyOne New Hampton Medical Center
  • MercyOne Cedar Falls Medical Center
  • MercyOne Oelwein Medical Center
  • MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center
  • MercyOne Oakland Medical Center
  • MercyOne Primghar Medical Center
  • MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center
