St. Vrain Valley Schools are on a shortened, online learning schedule today due to the weather.
Boulder Valley Schools are in-person but on a two-hour delay
“Due to expected snow off-and-on until 10:00 a.m., temperatures below 5 degrees, and a wind chill advisory that may create unsafe driving conditions and extreme cold weather, we will be transitioning to a shortened online learning day for Thursday, January 6,” the SVVSD says on its website, https://ift.tt/3q59Eon for schools can be found at the website.
“When schools are closed to in-person learning due to inclement weather, transportation and other activities, both in- and out-of-district, may also be canceled,” the website says.
District spokeswoman Kerri McDermid said the district will make a decision about after-school high school activities and athletics by noon today.
A grand opening ceremony for the district’s new Aquatic Center scheduled for this afternoon has been postponed to a later date.
In the Boulder Valley, school buses will pick up students two hours later than usual and schools will begin classes two hours later than usual, district spokesman Randy Barber said in an email. Morning preschool and before school child care (SAC and YMCA) have been canceled.
