The snowstorm still looks to be on track to cover the southern third of Lower Michigan with a solid area of heavy snow today. The first round of precipitation has moved through most of Michigan, and you might be wondering: where is the snowstorm? The radar forecast below in the photo gallery will allow you to step through each hour until the end of the snow.
The heaviest snow is depicted as a darker blue on the radar forecast images.

The snow will increase in intensity and coverage in the mid-afternoon. The steady moderate-to-heavy snow will cover all of southeast and south-central Lower Michigan this evening. The radar forecast above shows you how the snow intensity will taper off to light snow as you go north of Flint and north of Kalamazoo.
The radar forecast images should give you a great idea of when the snow will end across the Detroit area and southeast Lower Michigan. Those areas will be the last areas to have the snow come to an end.
Here’s a look at how much total snowfall is expected to fall. The locations of the snow forecast are still accurate, but I’d cut out the 9-inch amount, as it will be a rarity. I’d plan on a lot of 5-inch and 6-inch amounts in the southern third of the state, with some areas getting 7 or 8 inches of snow. Watch here for a complete update on expected snow amounts by 1 p.m.
