A man was shot dead in Trenton Saturday night, an hour after a woman was killed and a man injured in a separate shooting, officials said.
Jaquise Melvin, 26, of Trenton, was killed around 8 p.m. when he was shot near the intersection of St. Joe’s Avenue and Girard Avenue, Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman Casey DeBlasio told NJ Advance Media.
That shooting happened about an hour after Ola Williams, 61, of Trenton, was fatally shot near North Hermitage Avenue. A man was also injured in that shooting.
At least two gunmen fired 22 shots, including one that struck Williams in the head, DeBlasio said.
No arrests have been announced in either case.
It’s not clear if the two shootings were related. No additional information was available Sunday morning.
