The opening ceremony was held Friday for the annual 24-hour Veterans Vigil at the DeKalb County Courthouse in Sycamore. The vigil, in honor of veterans and a precursor to Veterans Day, is scheduled from 4 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday where a veteran will stand watch throughout.
