Weak shaking might have been felt in Champerico (pop. 7,800) located 21 km from the epicenter, Ocos (pop. 9,500) 49 km away, Retalhuleu (pop. 36,700) 57 km away, San Sebastian (pop. 14,800) 61 km away, Nuevo San Carlos (pop. 19,200) 61 km away, Coatepeque (pop. 45,700) 66 km away, and Mazatenango (pop. 44,100) 69 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Quetzaltenango (pop. 132,200) located 94 km from the epicenter.
