This Evening: Gloomy, cloudy skies will continue through the rest of today with just a few light flurries possible. Temperatures are in the 20s and 30s but will dip after the sunset shortly after 5:00 PM.
Tonight: Cloudy skies remain through tonight as an upper level disturbance will generate scattered light snow showers tonight. The best chance for these snow showers will be in the east. Watch for some slick roads out there as lows dip to the low and mid 20s. Winds will be northwesterly at 5 to 15 mph.
Sunday: The light snow showers will taper off with overall accumulations very light, less than one inch with most around a half inch or less. Skies remain cloudy for Sunday with highs in the mid to upper 20s. Winds will be in from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.
With mostly cloudy skies for Sunday night, we will see lows in the mid to upper teens and low 20s. Winds will be northwesterly at 5 to 10 mph.
Monday: For MLK Day, we will have another chance of light snow as a little system slides by. Accumulations should not be significant – around one inch or less. Highs will be in the upper 20s as the light northwest wind continues. Snow will end in the evening/early nighttime hours. Skies will become partly cloudy after that with lows dipping into the low double digits.
Tuesday: We will see the skies trying to open up a little bit on Tuesday with partly cloudy skies. The northwest winds should keep our highs suppressed into the low to mid 20s.
Wednesday Through Friday: We should come away with a bit of sunshine as partly cloudy skies persist. Stronger southwest winds on Wednesday will bring highs to the mid 30s with mild temps and breezy winds continuing for Thursday. We will see a cool down for Friday with highs in the low 20s, a northwest breeze, and lows in the single digits.
Next Weekend: Highs will be stuck in the teens for Saturday with mostly cloudy skies. Chances for snow arrive Sunday and Monday with highs in the mid 20s. We will likely see another surge of cold air after this. The up and down temperatures throughout the forecast are the result of the jet stream sitting overhead.
