COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Part of a busy Colorado Springs roadway was closed during Rush Hour on Wednesday for a structure fire.

At about 5:45 p.m. the Colorado Springs Fire Department announced northbound S. Nevada was closed between I-25 and St. Elmo Avenue. The area is south of downtown Colorado Springs. The fire was at the Roadway Inn.

The fire was under control soon after crews arrived at the scene. Firefighters tell 11 News the structure was abandoned and no injuries were reported. Nevada was back open in both directions not long after.

This article may or may not be updated depending on the circumstances of the fire. The purpose of this fire was to alert the public to a major roadway closure impacting traffic.
