Never in our lives have we been reminded on a daily basis that we are all in this together, that we are not alone. This is true, but right now we are all preparing for that new beginning. We are all in this together but the light at the end of the tunnel can only be turned on by you.
Dear Dream Retriever: In my dream, I am in a deserted area with cliffs and a flowing river. I am a child again. I meet a couple other children — a young girl in a white dress with blonde hair and a girl in a red shirt and blue jeans with brown hair. She is in a wheelchair. There is also a nice woman who is very helpful in calming me down. I find out the girls are ghosts.
The girl in the white dress says she has to keep her innocence or she will be burned alive again. (That is how she died.) The girl in the wheelchair had to go back and sit next to her body by the river because her parents dropped her off, and she died there. I wanted to stay with them forever but they said to set them free instead because if I die there, my parents may grab my body and I’d leave them forever. — HD
Dear HD: The deserted area, cliffs, flowing river, and you as a child all are representations of your current feelings.
The cliff is your strength, the river your emotions, and the deserted area your feelings of helplessness, all of which have been present within you since childhood. The two girls represent you, and parents, mentioned twice in the dream, represent authority over you. One part of you feels as if you would have to die in order to honor yourself and, you have had to do this before. The other girl represents your anger and resents the authority that has done this. This is represented by the wheelchair and being laid to rest by the river. The ghosts are a representation of the lingering emotional baggage you have (the ghosts that haunt you) that keeps you from evolving to your highest potential. The calming woman is you and your ability to handle this calmly.
