Columbia police arrested a wanted man after a four-hour long standoff that began after a vehicle chase Wednesday morning.

At 10:34 a.m., Columbia police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Douglas Antonio Lee, 42, of Columbia near 33 E. Broadway before Lee drove off and CPD chased after him.

Officers called off the chase after it went into the downtown area. Police however checked Lee's residence on the 3500 block of New Haven Road.

Police say that is when Lee barricaded himself inside the residence. Lee was armed with a pistol when officers took him into custody.

No injuries occurred during the incident.

Lee was arrested for felony warrants for the charges of first-degree domestic assault, possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm and resisting/interfering with arrest.

Lee is charged with third degree assault.

Lee has a Monday court date at 1 p.m.
