KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A band of wintry precipitation has moved into the Kansas City area, causing several slide-offs and crashes on area roadways.
The entire Kansas City area is in a Winter Weather Advisory until 1 p.m. this afternoon, when temperatures are expected to warm above freezing.
Between now and then, however, wintry conditions are making travel difficult.
The Missouri Department of Transportation Kansas City office said there are multiple crashes on the roads this morning.
The MoDOT Traveler Information Map showed most of the roads were covered or partly covered in the Kansas City area.

As of 9 a.m., crashes continued to pile up. The Kansas City Scout map showed most incidents were to the south of the metro.
41 Action News Chief Meteorologist Gary Lezak has timed out Tuesday's weather in his weather blog.
Areas to the north of Kansas City are under a winter storm warning until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Heavy round of mixed precipitation is moving into the KC Metro currently which may cause conditions to deteriorate quickly especially on untreated roads. Already seeing reports of a few accidents around the Metro...if you don't need to head out now hold off until this afternoon.
