A man who police say beat his girlfriend and held her at gunpoint was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 22, after a four-hour standoff at a Banning hotel.
Alfredo Raul Guerrero, 36, was booked on suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, making terrorist threats, resisting arrest and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, the Riverside County jail log said.
Banning police went to the Hampton Inn at 6071 Joshua Palmer Way about 3:30 p.m. A woman said she had escaped after Guerrero had assaulted her and pointed a gun at her, a police statment said. She told police that he was inside a hotel room, armed with a gun.
The Riverside County sheriff’s SWAT team served a search warrant and arrested Guerrero at about 7:30 p.m. without further incident, the police statement said.
