FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) - A weak disturbance will be passing through the area today and it’ll bring some light snow to southern parts of Mid-Michigan but after this, our weather turns extremely quiet for the first work week of 2021.
Light snow is expected to begin this morning for areas along I-69. Overnight, there’s been a slight northerly shift with this so we may see some light snow up to around M-46/Saginaw area with little to no snow north of there. This snow will continue into the early afternoon before wrapping up by evening. Snow accumulations of around an inch will be possible with the highest totals south of I-69. To the north, skies will stay mostly cloudy. Highs today across the area are in the low to mid 30s.
The first Monday of the year will see some pretty nice weather for January standards with partly cloudy skies and at least a few peeks of sunshine and temperatures in the lower to middle 30s. For the rest of the week, expect dry conditions with plenty of cloud cover and temperatures slightly above normal with highs in the low to mid 30s all week long.
This stubborn pattern will continue for the foreseeable future as no significant systems will be heading our way for a while.
