Many consumers are now turning to UltraViolet Light for sanitizing areas due to its power to quickly and efficiently eliminate COVID-19. The expanding market for ultraviolet lights has caused more and more companies to invest in miscellaneous germicides. UV futuristic design such as in the PleXus device gives the impression UV is a newcomer to the war on COVID, but nothing could be further from the truth. UV is hardly a recent addition to the arsenal of proven weapons against germs and virus.

Ultraviolet light was discovered in 1900 by Danish Physicist Niels Ryberg Finsen. Described as ‘’black lights,’’ UV light is electromagnetic radiation with frequencies of 8×1014 to 3× 1016 cycles per second and is invisible to the human eye. The UV Light has been recreationally used for decades for a summer tan, nail adhesive, black poster light glow and disinfectant.

We are now seeing a tremendous production spike in UV Lights because of COVID.

Companies are deploying UV light as a bacteria killer as it attacks strands of DNA and bacteria until they become irradicated.

These UV lights and lamps are being manufactured to serve as another level of protection against COVID. COVID is an airborne virus that can lead to pneumonia, respiratory failure, septic shock, and death. According to Britannica Technology, Ultraviolet lamps are housed in quartz or special glass that transmits ultraviolet radiation more readily than ordinary glass.

However, even before this pandemic, market analysis in LED Magazine anticipated a rise in the UV LED market of 1 billion dollars.

An already well established and expanding business, the UV light equips everyday people with the option to protect themselves beyond the mask and six feet regulations. UV lights can be employed in homes, air ducts, gyms, restaurants, and other public spaces.

It’s why some call it the fastest sunslinger in any bar, townhouse or office.
