DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Davenport police tell TV6 there is no longer a threat to the community after about an hour of an armed standoff near the NorthPark Mall. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office told TV6 the outcome was not what they wanted.
Police say they arrived around 11:22 a.m. to the 3700 block of Main Street and were negotiating with a person who was armed.
Police said they believe the situation started in Moline.
Police ask you to avoid the area near the mall, specifically the 3700 block of Main Street, until further notice.
Moline police and Iowa State Patrol also responded.
The scene is still active at this time.
Police say they will provide more information Sunday afternoon.
