COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, MI - The mysterious creatures living in a Michigan forest are now about to have some seasonal fun with visitors. The interactive sensory forest light show known as Glenlore Trails is about to transform into a family-friendly haunted forest.

The half-mile outdoor path is located at 3860 Newton Road in Commerce Township at Multi Lakes. This psychedelic display of colors in the woods is the work of Bluewater Technologies of Southfield, which found new use for its idled equipment amid the coronavirus pandemic. Scott Schoeneberger says his company is hard at work creating new Halloween-themed displays.

“We are first extending the trail a little bit. It will still be in the same location, but we’re trying to get as much out of it as we can,” Schoeneberger told MLive. “There will be a number of brand new audio/visuals. Some of the existing ones might also stay and be redone to make them look new.”

The current Glenlore Trails runs through Sunday, Oct. 4 and is sold out every night. The Halloween-themed trail will run from Saturday, Oct.10 through Sunday, November 29. Schoeneberger let MLive in on some of the new elements people will see, which he says will be kid-friendly.

“It will include a 23-foot high pumpkin people will walk through and an oversized cauldron which will have smoke and lights and should be interactive. There will also be some Harry Potter-type visuals like floating candles and magic mirrors like you’d see at Disney’s Haunted Mansion.”

TICKETS

$25 for adults, $12 for ages 3-12, under 3 free, go on sale on Wednesday, Sept. 23. You can purchase them by clicking here. You must choose a designated evening and hour-long time frame to keep the number of people low and spread out. Masks are required and guests are asked to maintain six feet of social distancing while on the trail.

“It’s definitely going to be holiday themed. We’re trying to change it up as much as we can so it will be a whole new experience for people who already came through the trail," added Schoeneberger.
