“She is home.”

That’s the message Laura Johnson’s father, Dennis, posted to Facebook late Sunday with a photo of his beaming daughter at the airport.

The homecoming brought to a close a harrowing two-day ordeal for Laura Johnson, who was on her lunch break Friday when, police say, Oen E. Nicholson, 30, kidnapped her and forced her to drive more than 2,100 miles to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Nicholson, 30, was arrested Sunday in Wisconsin. He is accused of killing his father, Charles Simms Nicholson, 83, at an RV park at Mill Casino in North Bend. Public records show the elder Nicholson held licenses to practice dentistry in Oregon and California. His son moved to the North Bend area last October, authorities said.

Oen Nicholson then stole a truck and ran over Anthony Oyster, 74, and Linda Oyster, 73, of Pensacola, Florida, at the RV park, authorities allege. Anthony Oyster died and his wife was critically wounded. Linda Oyster remained in critical condition Monday, the Coos County district attorney said Monday.

Nicholson is also accused of fatally shooting Jennifer L. Davidson, 47, who was working in a marijuana store in Coos Bay.

Police say Nicholson then kidnapped Johnson, who was on break at her job at Cabela’s, which is off Interstate 5 in Springfield’s Gateway shopping district. Authorities found the stolen Dodge truck Friday near the small community of Noti, which is about halfway between Florence and Eugene on Oregon 126. The truck had been set ablaze, authorities said.

On Saturday morning, Johnson’s father published a Facebook post about his daughter’s disappearance, saying she did not return from her lunch break.

The following morning he posted that his daughter had been kidnapped and forced to drive 33 hours to Milwaukee.

“She is unhurt,” Dennis Johnson wrote, adding that she would be flying home.

“We feel blessed for this,” said Johnson, of Junction City. “What a Father’s Day gift.”

Laura Johnson has so far not discussed how she managed to survive her terrifying encounter with Nicholson.

“She is very strong,” her father wrote. “She kept it together like she was raised to do and stayed strong.”

Her grandmother and great-grandmother “would be so proud,” he posted.
