A New Jersey waterpark short on employees is offering starting pay of $15 and a $100 hiring incentive as it looks to fill out its staff for the summer season.
Sahara Sam’s Water Park in West Berlin is hiring 75 to 100 lifeguards, bartenders, party hosts, cashiers, line cooks, and park services employees, it announced Monday.
The Camden County waterpark is also hoping to entice prospective workers with bonus referrals, free admission, friends and family discounts and discounts on food and beverage.
The park will train new employees, including potential lifeguards. Applicants must be at least 15 years old, a compnay spokeswoman said.
Though most of the jobs are part-time, some full time lead and supervisor positions available, the spokeswoman said.
Employees must be on the job for 30 days, meeting set requirements for number of shifts and hours worked to be eligible for the bonus, she added.
“Sahara Sam’s, like other companies across the nation, has been impacted during this unprecedented year,” Boomers Parks regional operations director Brandon Moore said in a statement. “We continue to fill positions and are fortunate enough to offer incentives.

Irvine, California-based Boomers Parks is comprised of eight parks: Sahara Sam’s Water Park is the only northeast location.
Nearby Clementon Park and Splashworld has also announced pay hikes and retention bonuses for employees.
