A 23-year-old Lunenburg man was cited for failing to stop for a red light after he crashed into an Auburn police cruiser Monday morning.
Auburn Police Chief Andrew Sluckis Jr. said Detective Eric Dyson was going east on Auburn Street around 9:15 a.m. when another vehicle smashed into his cruiser in Drury Square.
The detective had a green light, but the other driver did not, Sluckis said.
The driver, identified by police as Ryan McColl, was cited for failure to stop for a red light.
Dyson and a female passenger in McColl’s vehicle were taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus with minor injuries, the chief said. McColl was not injured.
