FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) - Fort Wayne Community Schools said there will be a 2-hour delay next week to give teachers time to get up-to-speed on virtual learning technology.
A letter sent to FWCS parents and guardians said students will head to school two hours later on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

This week was the first full week of an unprecedented school year for both students and staff dealing with COVID-19.
"Now that we have experienced the combination of in-person, remote and blended learning, there are specific areas of training we know our teachers need to balance their workload and better meet the needs of your students," FWCS Superintendent Mark Daniel said in the letter.
"With that knowledge, we are going to provide additional time for school staff to best use our technology and work together on lessons, dividing up workloads and other strategies to make this a successful school year."
Daniel also asked parents who haven't notified the school of their final selection for in-person/blended learning or remote learning to do so by Friday, Aug. 28.
