TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — A more than five-hour long standoff ended early Sunday morning after a man, who barricaded himself in a southwest Topeka home, was taken into custody.
Officers said around 10:30 p.m. Saturday a woman called for help and was being held inside a home against her will at 36th and Skyline.
She was able to leave safely, but the suspect, Brian Wright, 38, refused to come out.
After several hours of negotiations, Wright was taken into custody around 6:15 Sunday morning.
He was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on two counts of domestic battery, two counts of criminal restraint and aggravated assault.
