The State of Utah kicked off their season on Friday night and an Oregon offensive line commit opened his senior season with a bang. Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon offensive center Jackson Light and his team raced out to a 49-0 halftime lead with Light making a highlight downfield block on his team’s seventh touchdown of the night.
In the video below, Light (#74) can be seen turning the corner to get ahead of his teammate with the ball, knocking out two defenders in the process.

Since committing to Oregon last fall, Light has seen his stock jump considerably in the 247Sports Composite rankings and picking up other honors. The prospect had a strong offseason, including earning an invite to the Under Armour All-America game after an MVP performance at a UA Camp stop in Phoenix. The center earned his fourth-star in the 247Sports composite rankings and continues to move up, now listed among the top 300 prospects in the 2021 class.
While his stock has jumped up, it's only strengthened his commitment to Oregon as he's shown on social media. While other uncommitted prospects posting their top schools on twitter, in April Light posted a top-six schools consisting of the many Oregon logos that the Ducks have used over the past years. The tweet went viral with over 200 retweets and 2,500 likes. A few months later, Light went viral with the popular sports Instagram account Overtime posting a video of Light benching 425-pound with the Oregon fight song playing in the background. Since that video was posted, it has over 400,000 views and 95,000 likes.
Light is projected as a future power five starter by 247Sports' recruiting analyst Blair Angulo with a comparison to Matt Paradis of the Carolina Panthers.
"Broad shouldered build with decent length and room to add mass. Forceful blocker with good mobility," said Angulo evaluating the Oregon commit. " Agile off his snap, showing ability to get vertical quickly and push opponents back to open up lanes. Balanced and aggressive lineman who can slide and pull, with footwork and awareness to support where needed. In pass block situations, does well to absorb contact with strong base and uses hands effectively to offset opponents' moves while staying cognizant of potential counters. At times squanders leverage and could improve his consistency in terms of pad level. Upside as a multi-year starter at Power Five level with chance to garner NFL Draft looks."
